Widows Care Program

Widows Care Program

Manna Ministries International is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and assistance to widows in our community. We understand that losing a spouse can be emotionally challenging and financially burdensome experience and our widows care program aims to alleviate the hardships faced by widows by offering a range of services tailored to their specific needs.

We particularly work with rural widows in Kisumu County undergoing various hardships. Some of them are isolated and rejected by their own kinsmen. Most of them are elderly and living their grandkids in a poor state. They have enormous challenges providing for themselves and their loved ones.

Our program aims to alleviate these burdens and empower widows to rebuild their lives with confidence, dignity, and hope.

Through a key partner All For His Glory Ministries we are able to serve our widows and provide support in these areas:

I)Food Assistance:

Our program focuses on addressing the immediate need for sustenance by offering regular access to meals. We organize monthly food distribution events where widows come and collect essential food items, including cereals, flours, cooking oil and non-perishable goods.

II) Shelter Support

We assist widows in securing transitional housing, enabling them to establish stability as they navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives. To date, we have built more than 500 shelters for vulnerable widows.

III) Emotional Support

Through our widows care giver team, we facilitate daily visits to the widows to create safe spaces for widows to share their experiences, seek emotional support, and foster a sense of community. During the visits, the widows care giver team also get to help out with house chores, share the word of God and pray with the widows.

IV) Personalized Support

Our dedicated case givers provide individualized support to widows, conducting needs assessments and developing tailored action plans to address their specific challenges.

(V)Social Engagement and Community Building

The program fosters a sense of community and belonging by organizing social events and networking opportunities for widows. Through these activities, widows can connect with others who have shared similar experiences, form meaningful friendships and create a supportive network forongoing emotional and social support.

CONCLUSION
Our widows care program is made possible by the dedication and support of our committed staff and volunteers, generous donors, and community partnerships. Our widows care program is committed to ensuring that no widow faces the challenges of food insecurity, loneliness or homelessness alone. By providing essential food and shelter support, along with comprehensive case management and emotional care, we strive to empower widows to regain stability, rebuild their lives, and find hope for a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of widows in our community.
